Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was not a fan of Martin Luther King Jr, once describing him as “tricky” and a “phony,” after hearing FBI tapes of him with a woman other than his wife in a hotel room. (Hmmmmm she didn’t know about JFK’s own adulterous affairs?? I’m just saying)

Jacqueline Kennedy spoke of her disgust towards Martin Luther King after claims the civil rights leader allegedly tried to arrange a sex party while in Washington for a march.

Jackie Kennedy’s relationship with Dr King Jr became strained as a result of wire taps arranged by FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.

The taps allegedly caught Martin Luther King trying to arrange a sex party in Washington, although this has been dismissed by some material concocted by Hoover to damage Dr King Jr.

That’s just one of the SCOOPS in a new book, Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life With John F. Kennedy, which details, and even includes audio recordings of, a series of interviews Jackie gave shortly after JFK’s assassination.

The book includes a series of interviews the former first lady gave to historian and former Kennedy aide Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. shortly after her husband was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963. Over seven sessions, she recalled conversations on topics ranging from her husband’s reading habits to the botched Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba.

The book comes with 8 audio CDs of the interviews. Jacqueline Kennedy’s voice is firm and clear. It will be published on Sept. 14. Its release comes on the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s first year in office.

Other SCOOPS in the book:

John hated Lyndon Johnson. “Jack said it to me sometimes. He said, ‘Oh, God, can you ever imagine what would happen to the country if Lyndon were president?’” Onassis recalls, adding that he even discussed backing another candidate in the Democratic primaries in 1968.

Kennedy appointed Republican Henry Cabot Lodge ambassador to Vietnam because he doubted the war was winnable. “I think he probably did it … rather thinking it might be such a brilliant thing to do because Vietnam was rather hopeless anyway, and put a Republican there.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: She says Dr. King mocked her husband’s funeral and Cardinal Richard Cushing, who celebrated Mass at the funeral.

“He made fun of Cardinal Cushing and said that he was drunk at it,” she said. “And things about they almost dropped the coffin. I just can’t see a picture of Martin Luther King without thinking, you know, that man’s terrible.”

I won’t say anything but I can’t wait to see the facebook & twitter comments! What do you think of Jackie O’s comments about MLK?
