Who knew the 1980s girl group Mary Jane Girls was still around?! Well, the estate of the late Rick James did and they are not happy about it!
According to TMZ, Rick James’ estate is suing two former members of the Mary Jane Girls who have re-started their careers using the group’s music and name without the permission of the estate who owns the group’s rights.
Kimberly “Maxi” Wuletich and Cheri “Candy” Wells-Chez have been performing across the country in small venues and the James’ estate is suing for every penny they have earned from the performances.
The estate is also asking the judge to prohibit the women from performing ever again.
