CLEVELAND – Check out the list of Veterans Day events throughout northeast Ohio where you can go to honor the men and women who fought, and are fighting, for our country. For veterans, take a look at the free services and meals that are being offered on this day.
Free Services
• Jo Ann’s Professional Touch in Akron is providing four cleanings to eligible veterans at no cost. Friends, family and co-workers can help defray the cost by purchasing $70 gift certificates for a cleaning. Eligible recipients include disabled veterans, members of the U.S. Military or a member of a local police or fire department. Elderly veterans, with or without a disability, are also eligible for services.
• Waterway Gas & Wash is offering a complimentary wash and discounted gasoline from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. Veterans will only need to verbally inform Waterway that they are veterans in order to receive a free Full Service car wash (an exterior car wash plus vacuum, window-cleaning and thorough hand-dry) and 10 cent off every gallon of gasoline. Waterway Gas & Wash is in the Bainbridge Township, on Aurora Road in the Shops at Marketplace.
Free Meals
• Some restaurants in the Cleveland area are offering free meals to veterans and active military personnel on Veterans Day. They include Applebee’s, Chili’s, TGI Friday’s, Krispie Kreme Doughnuts and Outback Steakhouse.
