Bush Accepts Kanye’s Apology, Kanye Says Lauer Set Him Up

by Andreas Hale Posted Nov 10th 2010 3:00PM

There’s one thing that Kanye West and George W. Bush hate above anything else — to be called racist. And because (apparently) they both share the same sentiments about racism, the two have made amends.

Poor Kanye West.

Poor George W. Bush.

Apparently these two have been peas in a pod but just didn’t know it. And the tie that binds the two is the fact that they both hate being called racists. Even though the levels of racist accusations are respectively different (one was called a racist because he let thousands die without providing help, while the other was called racist because he interrupted an award acceptance speech by a white girl — we’ll let you guess who is who), these two have managed to cite their racist accusations as dark points in their careers.

Never mind the fact that Bush had the biggest attack on American soil happen on his watch or the wild goose WMD chase and subsequent war he dragged America through because of weapons of mass destruction that didn’t exist. And also never mind the fact that Kanye has always had his massive ego under scrutiny by the media (which he ALWAYS feels is the worst thing that could ever happen to him). This was the darkest hour that they shared. Honestly, it’s like saying that striking out in little league is on par with striking out with the bases loaded in Game 7 of the World Series with the winning run on 3rd base. But we digress.

So when Kanye strangely empathized and apologized to the former president on the ‘Today’ show (because obviously being called a racist because of his interruption of Swift is on par with Hurricane Katrina), it appeared that all was well. Right?

Wrong.

es, Bush accepted Mr. West’s apology. But now Kanye has had yet another freak out via his Twitter and feels that he was taken advantage of during his ‘Today’ show interview. Kanye now knows how Michael Jackson felt and wishes that the King of Pop had Twitter to vent his feelings. How exactly he was set up? We don’t know. But all we know is that Kanye has sworn off the media again because he feels brutalize by the press. Sort of like how Bush felt.

Perhaps these two should have dinner so they can both talk about how the media mistreats them.
