‘Tis the season for holiday cheer and things of that nature. However, it’s easy to put the wants, needs and gifts of everyone else before your own. Here are a few tips to spoil yourself this holiday season.

Love Who You Are – Make a list of all the things you love about yourself, from that birthmark to your zany sense of humor! Don’t hold back!

Turn A Mental Health Day Into Something More – Treat yourself to a “stay-cation” right in your own home: ditch the Blackberry, laptop and bills and take a day off where you act like you are on vacation. Read, stay in bed, eat your favorite foods and refresh!

Don’t Blame Yourself – Many of us are constantly saying “sorry” for things that are beyond our control or not our fault. Stop blaming yourself, and therefore stop letting others blame you.

Indulge! – There’s no need to head to the spa; find ways to pamper yourself at home. Soak in a long bath, enjoy a do-it-yourself facial, or paint your nails a color that makes you smile.

Make Every Day A Special Occasion – Look good, feel good. Stop saving that favorite, most flattering ensemble for a special occasion. Give an “average day” a little extra pizazz by throwing on an outfit you love.

Visualize A New You – Make a New Year’s resolution to not worry about New Year’s resolutions. Instead, try making a vision board.

Learn Something New – Commit to learning a new activity, picking up a new hobby or cultivating a new skill. Broadening your horizons will have lasting benefits, and you will experience a reward unlike that of any material possession.

Take A Night Off – Let someone else be the chef for the night! And even let them clean up. You deserve it.

Let It Go – If there is something that has been plaguing you for a long time (guilt, sadness, regret, etc.), find a way to release yourself of that burden. Identify the problem, become open to happiness and let it go.
