A Houston mom was charged with child endangerment after police say her toddler got drunk on Four Loko.

Police were called to Lashawnda Allen’s apartment in the 5600 block of Yale around 2 p.m. on February 21, 2011, by Allen’s roommate. According to court documents, the roommate told officers that she’d come home that afternoon to find Allen in the parking lot, talking to a neighbor.

The roommate said Allen told her the two kids were in the apartment, and the 20-month-old was drunk.

When the roommate went to check on the kids and entered their room, she told police she found Allen’s 4-month-old baby hanging off the bed with the sheets tangled around her waist, turning blue. But Allen’s 20-month-old daughter was nowhere to be found.

The neighbor told police she’d found the child in the parking lot, and that the child appeared to be intoxicated and was falling down, so the roommate called an ambulance. Cops interviewed the mom and she admitted she’d been drinking Four Loko that day and had fallen asleep. When she awoke, she said she saw the toddler on the floor with an empty Four Loko can.

Allen told police the child “looked drunk,” but she was afraid to call an ambulance because she didn’t want to lose her kids. Uh oh looks like that failed.

When the ambulance finally did arrive at Allen’s home that day, the child was taken to LBJ Hospital, where her blood alcohol level was found to be 0.09, court documents said. Allen was being held in jail on $2,000 bond.
