It’s Wednesday, March 23rd and today is a very special day wishing Chaka Khan a very happy birthday!

We celebrates the birthday of one of music and entertainment’s most beloved voices. The one and only Chaka Khan turns 58 today and we’re excited to be afforded the opportunity to celebrate along with her.

Chaka Khan (born Yvette Marie Stevens in Chicago, IL) is just one of those artists you can’t get enough of. Active on the music scene since the mid-60s, she’s one of music’s legends and is still going strong. Chaka Khan has given us masterpieces at every turn of the decade – from her early days leading the platinum-selling funk collective Rufus in the 70s all the way down to her dynamic solo career throughout the 80s, 90s and beyond.

To date, Chaka Khan has taken home a total of 10 Grammys and has been nominated for a total of 22 throughout the years. Some of her strongest and most memorable R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco and contemporary singles include hits like “I Feel For You,” “I’m Every Woman,” “Tell Me Something Good,” and “Sweet Thing.”

So here’s where we turn the tables toward you on Chaka Khan’s big day. Name your favorite Chaka Khan musical moments and memories right along with us all day long on the message board. We’ll be back with more great music as we continue to salute our girl Chaka Khan! As a reminder, don’t forget to mark your calendars for some of Chaka Khan’s tour dates and live performances including this summer’s annual Macy’s Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Will you be there? Let us know how excited you are to see Chaka Khan live.

In the meantime, check out a recent live performance from Chaka Khan as she effortlessly blazes through one of her signature tunes “Through The Fire” at the BET Celebration of Gospel earlier this year.
