Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan and a reunited New Edition have been added to the main stage roster of the 2011 Essence Music Festival in the Superdome.
Additions to the four superlounge stages include Kem, Miguel, Naughty By Nature, Doug E. Fresh, Marsha Ambrosius, Mavis Staples, Eric Benet, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Trin-i-tee 5:7 and Brian Courtney Wilson.
Hudson, the powerhouse star of stage and screen, is making her Essence debut. Khan is a returning favorite. The New Edition reunion boasts the classic lineup featuring Bobby Brown and Johnny Gil.
They’ll join such previously announced performers as Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson, Boyz II Men, Fantasia, George Clinton and Macy Gray in the Dome from July 1-3.
