NBA player Gilbert Arenas wants a judge to prevent his baby mama Laura Govan from appearing on “Basketball Wives: Los Angeles.” According to TMZ, Arenas is claiming his baby mama is illegally exploiting him by appearing on the show.Gloria and sister Laura Govan recently signed up to appear on the hit franchise and Arenas feels Laura just wants to become a TV personality.(and what’s wrong with that?) In the lawsuit, Arenas claims even though the soon-to-be-debuted series doesn’t mention him by name, “the very presence of defendant Govan and the title of the show is an obvious reference to [Arenas].” And Arenas notes his name was used in the press release announcing Govan had joined the cast.
A press release for “Basketball Wives” says the VH1 show “will dive into the real-life locker room of these leading ladies, giving viewers a never-before-seen look at what it takes to live in La La Land and be connected to a famous professional athlete.”
Sounds familiar? Arenas’ Orlando Magic teammate Dwight Howard blocked his baby mama Royce Reed from mentioning his name on “Basketball Wives.” And let’s not forget Chris Bosh blocking his wife from appearing on the show this season.
Gilbert, did you ever stop to think that maybe Laura needs some cash, after all you did abandon her while she was pregnant with your fourth child!
The show is set to premiere in August.
