Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was sidelined during the third quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons after taking a hard hit to the head.

As Vick walked to the locker room for medical attention after the hit, NBC showed that he was spitting blood. Sideline reporter Michele Tafoya reported that he was bleeding due to biting his tongue.

Vick was not hospitalized and was cleared to travel with the team back to Philadelphia, but will have to undergo concussion-specific testing before he can be cleared to return to practice or play in a game.

As Vick was being wrapped up by a defender, his body twisted and his helmet collided with teammate Todd Herremans’ head. Vick got up slowly and gradually made his way to the sideline with help from his team’s training staff.
