Singer Vesta Williams (@vesta4u) was found this morning dead in her LA hotel room. Cause of death hasn’t been determined or confirmed at this time.

Vesta, 48, was an amazing talent born in Coshocton, Ohio. A daughter of a Ohio radio personality she began performing at an early age. Her family moved from Ohio to LA in the 60’s where Vesta and her sister became “The Williams Sisters” and performed on the TV show “Jack and Jill.

She became a highly successful studio singer working with Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Stephanie Mills.

Vesta scored hits such as “Once Bitten Twice Shy,” “Congratulations,” Sweet, Sweet Love,” “4U” and “Special.” She was also an incredible personality who filled in for Donnie Simpson on BET’s “Video Soul.” She also appeared in the movie “Posse” and McDonald’s commercial with Al Jarreau.

Vesta will be missed. Our prayers go out to her family and friends.
