NORTHFIELD, Ill. – Kraft Foods is voluntarily recalling three varieties of Velveeta Shells & Cheese single serve microwaveable cups due to the possible presence of small, thin wire bristle pieces in the food.

The following products are being recalled:

Velveeta Shells & Cheese original microwaveable 2.39 oz. cups with a “best when used by date” of May 16, 2012. UPC #2100002322.

Velveeta Shells & Cheese original four pack 2.39 oz. microwaveable cups with “best when used by dates” of April 24, 2012 to May 16, 2012. UPC #2100002339.

Velveeta Shells & Cheese made with 2% milk microwaveable 2.19 oz. cups with “best when used by dates” of March 25, 2012 to March 30, 2012. UPC #2100002323.

Velveeta Shells & Cheese made with 2% milk four pack microwaveable 2.19 oz. cups with “best when used by dates” of March 29, 2012 to April 12, 2012. UPC #2100002946.

Velveeta Rotini & Cheese Broccoli microwaveable 2.44 oz. cups with “best when used by dates” of April 29, 2012 to May 14, 2012. UPC #2100002318.

Consumers can find the “best when used by” date on the bottom of the package.

Kraft said there have been no reports of injuries or complaints.

Around 137,000 cases of the mac and cheese products were shipped to customers across the United States.

If you bought affected “best when used by” dates of the products, you should not eat them and return them to the store of purchase for an exchange or full refund. Consumers also can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations Monday through Friday at 1-800-308-1841.

The affected products were manufactured in Champaign, IL and Lakeville, MN
