MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — All northbound lanes of Interstate 271 are closed while police and towing crews remove a double tractor-trailer that crashed near Wilson Mills Road around 4 a.m.
Police said they did not know how long it will take to remove the wrecked rig and clean up debris scattered across the highway. They urged motorists to seek alternate routes.
The crash occurred when the driver lost control of his truck, went off the highway and crashed, spilling debris over all lanes closing the major commuter highway.
Mayfield Heights police said the two express lanes of the highway had been open for several hours this morning, but were closed shortly before 8 a.m.
Police said the driver of the truck, whose name was not yet available, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital.
