Starting from scratch is something most people would be hesitant to do. Grammy-nominated R&B singer Eric Benét, however, is excited about it.
After almost 20 years as a father, Eric is now expecting his first child with his new wife Manuela Testolini.
Back then when India came, it was joyous and loving, but I was also scared. I didn’t know what to expect and I was a single father. Fast forward to 19 years later and the fear is gone.
“Looking back now I know that I have nothing to look forward to but joy, love, and all the gifts that a child can bring. So I’m excited,” he told radio personality Egypt Sherrod.
Of his new wife Manuela, he said “Now that I have this opportunity to love again, it just feels completely different.” Eric even shared that the pair wants “at least a couple” more children.
With Manuela being eight months pregnant, the new addition to their family will be arriving right in time for the holidays. That isn’t all Eric has to celebrate, though. He’s recently launched his own record label partnered with EMI, called Jordan House Records.
Also, he has a new single, entitled “Real Love” and an album set to drop in Spring of 2012. Did we mention he was just nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B performance?
