CLEVELAND – A Cuyahoga County jury found a Cleveland woman guilty of assaulting several people with her car during McDonald’s hiring day.

Prosecutor Bill Mason said 23-year-old Stacey Matthews will be sentenced at a later date for six counts of felonious assault.

Cleveland police said that on April 19, Matthews and 24-year-old Cedrica Johnson, of East Cleveland, went to a busy McDonald’s restaurant, filled with people waiting to apply for jobs. The two women confronted two teen girls, who were in the parking lot to interview for a position, police said.

According to prosecutors, Johnson threatened one of the girls with scissors before a fight began. Employees at the McDonald’s tried to break up the fight, but that’s when Matthews got into the car and put it in reverse. Police said she hit five people with the vehicle, including the restaurant’s owner.

Cleveland police arrested Johnson when they found the car near East 107th Street and St. Clair. Matthews eventually turned herself in to police.
