LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (WZZM) – The state of Michigan has another lottery winner who is receiving food stamps.

The Detroit News and WDIV – TV report that Amanda Clayton, a 24-year-old single mother of two from Lincoln Park, won $1 million in the lottery last September, but continues to get $200 a month in food stamps, according to the woman’s mother.

Clayton apparently took a $700,000 lump sum, and after taxes, pocketed about $500,000.

“I thought that they would cut me off, but since they didn’t I thought maybe it was OK because I’m not working,” Clayton told WDIV. “I feel that it’s OK because I have no income, and I have bills to pay. I have two houses.”
