A 38-year-old Medina man accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a child has been indicted on multiple counts of rape and gross sexual imposition.

Nicolas A. Franick was arrested last month for felony sexual battery.

According to Medina Detective Mary Gross, “The victim’s bravery in assisting with this extensive investigation, in conjunction with her mother’s support, allowed our team to present the case to the Grand Jury in a timely manner.”

Franick was indicted on 24 felonies stemming from a collaborative investigation by the Medina County Prosecutor’s Office, Detectives from Medina and Wadsworth, and the Child Advocacy Center.

Mr. Franick’s charges are as follows:

Three – Rape charges of a victim less than 13 years of age (Felony 1)

One – Rape charge (Felony 1)

Six – Gross Sexual Imposition (Felony 3)

Fourteen- Gross Sexual Imposition (Felony 4)

Franick is currently being held in the Medina County Jail on a $250K bond.
