Maxwell Announces First Tour in Two Years

By Derrick Bryson Taylor

Maxwell is set to hit the road for the first time in two years, according to a press release. The camera shy artist will perform all four of his platinum albums in full on six dates across the country.

On June 20, Maxwell will kick off a two night stint at the Los Angeles Staples Center. On July 27 and 28 he will perform at Atlanta, Georgia’s Phillips Arena. Finally, his tour comes to a stop on August 3 and 4 as he performs at New Jersey’s Prudential Center.

Maxwell will perform his first two albums, Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite and Embrya, on the first night of each stop. On the second evening the soul singer will perform Now and BLACKsummers’ Night.

This will be the first time he’s ever performed all four albums in its entirety.

In addition, Obama 2012 merchandise will be sold on sight. One-hundred-percent of the proceeds will go to the campaign. Volunteers will be on hand to register voters for this fall’s presidential election.

Tickets go on sale on April 20 at 10 a.m.

Will you be going to see Maxwell when he comes to a city near you?
