PORTAGE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) –

A former Corrections Officer at the Portage County Jail has been indicted on one count of felonious assault.

This, after an incident between Connie Y. Sutton and a female inmate, 23-year-old Holly Anderson.

As a result of that incident, Anderson was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.

Tuesday, Sutton turned herself in at the Portage County Jail where she was booked and subsequently arraigned in the Portage County Common Please Court where she was released on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond with conditions of no contact with any inmates at the jail facility or other witnesses in the case.

As a result of the investigation, Sutton’s employment at the Portage County Jail has been terminated.
