James Brown’s oldest daughter is wanted by North Augusta Public Safety after she allegedly STOLE a car from St. Stephen Ministries in Augusta and injured her boss outside a bank in North Augusta when the boss (46 year old Hope Ellis Campbell) tried to get the car back, authorities said.

Campbell, executive director of St. Stephen, told officers she had spotted Venisha Brown, an employee who had stolen a gray Chevrolet Suburban from the ministry on Greene Street in Augusta.

Campbell said she reached into the car to try to take the keys, but Brown quickly accelerated, dragging Campbell into and over the hood of another vehicle parked in front of the Suburban, according to Thornton.

Brown drove away and was last seen headed into Georga.

Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Jimmy Young said Brown took the Suburban from the ministries’ building on Sunday and Campbell had reported the theft.

Brown is charged in warrants with possession of a stolen vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and first degree assault and battery.
