Among all adults surveyed, 15 percent said they would answer a phone call in the middle of sex. Do your friends really need a play-by-play, 160-character description while you are naked, under the sheets with your significant other?

Would you include a photo attachment? Apparently, many singles find it appropriate. Sexting and texting have become mainstream for young women. Earlier this year, a Harlequin romance report showed that 43 percent of women aged 18-40 engage in sexting. That is a pretty huge number, considering you might not want your children to see the details of your digital dialog.

As women, we want a commitment from the men we are dating, which is why 65 percent of those sexting think it is fine if they are in a serious relationship. Thirty-six percent of casual daters admitted to sending a risqué message after only a few dates. Will he have to say “I love you” to get sex and a text?

Sexting and texting scandals have caused a few divorces, including Tiger Woods’ and Eva Longoria’s. A few political careers have been obliterated after pushing the send button. Even Charlie Sheen, before saying goodbye to Twitter, sent tweets while having sex with his former girlfriend, Bree Olsen.
