LOCAL: FirstEnergy, RTA in Preperation of Nasty Storm

First Energy officials are hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst, as Hurricane Sandy is predicted to bring wide-spread power outages.

Crews are standing by and ready to go.

The worst is expected late Monday night and into Tuesday.

First Energy officials tell 19 Action News it is important customers call their automated line if the power goes out – 888-544-4877.

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

RTA is making plans in case the mega storm hitting the east coast affects commuters in Cleveland.

RTA is finishing up plans to have busses on standby in case there are any problems with the Rapid train lines.

For instance, if the expected high winds knock a tree into the path of the trains, RTA is going to have a plan in place to immediately have busses get the commuters to their final destinations.
