CLEVELAND – A woman is dead in a fire on Cleveland’s east side Thursday morning, according to Cleveland fire.

The fire chief at the scene told NewsChannel5 four people were inside the home on East 99th Street and Nelson Avenue. He said one person died and three survived the fire. At least one person was taken to the hospital.

Firefighters at the scene said it began as a fire and then an explosion occurred. The fire chief also said there were oxygen tanks inside the home.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
