Michelle Obama – who is nominated for a Grammy Award for her spoken-word reading of “American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America” – is sharing the songs that are in heavy rotation on her iPod, reports People.

Album that reminds me of home: “Talking Book”

The first album I received was Talking Book. My grandfather, a lover of jazz,I gave it to me as a birthday gift. Jackson 5′s albums were among my first that I bought with my own money.

Song I listen to with my daughters: Jill Scott’s “Golden”

Malia likes to turn me onto new music, so she often introduces me to stuff we end up listening to together. Most recently she got me into Elle Varner who’s an amazing young artist. Also, Jill Scott’s “Golden” – I used to play it in the car when I drove the girls to school each morning and we would sing it together.

Singers on My Workout Playlist: Willow Smith & Beyoncé

“Whip My Hair” by Willow Smith always gets me moving – and it’s just so inspiring how young and talented she is! I also love anything by Beyoncé – and of course “Move Your Body” gets me going not just because it’s a great song, but because of the amazing video she did to help get kids active in support of [my campaign to fight childhood obesity], Let’s Move!

My song with my husband: Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”

Barack and I danced to “Let’s Stay Together” at this Inauguration, and it was such a special moment for us. We had spent all day together with our family and friends at different Inaugural events, and at the end of the day the dance was really our one-on-one moment with each other. Well, each other and everyone watching on TV!
