WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — When you ask most children what they want for their birthday, you’ll typically get a list.  That’s not the case with Journey Tyner.

“It’s not just about you when you have a birthday party, it’s about everyone having fun, being caring, being loving, it’s everything like that,” said Journey.

And her actions speak louder than her words.  For as long as her mother can remember, Journey has been giving to others.

“She has volunteered every Martin Luther King holiday, she’s helped serve the homeless, she’s collected money for the animal shelter before,” said Journey’s mother, Simone.

To make her dream a reality, many of the activities at Saturday’s ‘give big’ party revolved around giving back to those less fortunate.

“Making picture frames for children in hospitals, as well as painting pictures, making jewelry, and giving change.  The change that they donate today will go to a charity,” said family friend Amber Jaymes. Read More
