Legendary basketball player Michael Jordan tied the knot with his long time girlfriend, former model Yvette Prieto, over the weekend at the Episcopal Church of Bethseda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach.
It was a moderately intimate setting with 300 guests and the first photo (above) hit the Net late yesterday.
According to the Associated Press, the bride wore a French silk voile corseted sheer sheath gown byJ’Aton Couture. It had handmade silk lace decorated with Swarovski crystals, and cascaded into a dramatic cathedral train with accents of a peacock-feathered design; while the groom looked debonair in a tux.
Photos reveal the eight bridesmaids wore strapless lilac dresses.
Among the audience members spotted at the church were former teammate Scottie Pippen and fellow NBA stars Patrick Ewing, Toni Kukoc and Ron Harper. Also, former NFL player, Ahmad Rashad andTiger Woods were there. Spike Lee was also spotted.
The reception was the place to be, with more than 2,000 guests at the Bear’s Club, a private golf club where Jordan owns a house nearby.
The guests were served with a 7-layer white rum wedding cake covered in white fondant and sugar crystals, and adorned with crystal brooches and the couples’ monogram on top, says AceShowBiz.com.
DJ MC Lyte, 18-piece band The Source, and singers K’Jon, Robin Thicke and Usher provided entertainment for those who came to congratulate the couple for their wedding. When the night came, fireworks lit up the place as part of the celebration.
Instead of purchasing wedding gifts, the couple asked guests to donate to the James R. Jordan Foundation. The flowers for the wedding were also donated, to the Jupiter Medical Center.
