Both families include celebrities whose mere presence at social events cause members of the paparazzi to whip out their cameras and strap on their running shoes, but Will Smith doesn’t see a whole lot more similarities between his family and Kardashians.

Will and Jaden have been making appearances all over for their upcoming movie After Earth. While they had a little fun dancing it up on “The Graham Norton Effect,” Will was a bit irritated during a different interview with New York Magazine’s Vulture.

Will, his wife Jada, and their two children Jaden and Willow comprise one the most famous families in show business, but just because they are pretty open about their lives doesn’t mean they are anything like reality families.

When asked to compare the two clans, Jaden, who allegedly has a relationship with Kylie Jenner, was stopped before he could answer. Will held up his hand for Jaden to disregard the question. “I’m trying to understand,” Jaden said.

“Don’t,” Will directed him. “You know he’s never had to, to deal with those kinds of questions.”

Before allowing the reporter to change the subject, Will mimicked her and said: “’So how do you think your life is similar or un-similar to people’s names in Calabasas?’ For our family, the entire structure of our life, our home, our business relationships – the entire purpose is for everyone to be able to create in a way that makes them happy.”

Will emphasized that although they are celebrities, his family members are in the spotlight because it is what they like to do.

“We are trying to put great things into the world; we’re trying to have fun, and we’re trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love. So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less desirable for us,” Will said.
