CLEVELAND – A missing woman has been found alive and the suspected abductor has killed himself, according to Cleveland police at the scene.
Police are at a location in the 4200 block of Mapledale Avenue Monday morning after being tipped off on a location for Kenya Pierce and Derrick Hudson.
Pierce was transported to MetroHealth Medical. Officers at the scene on Maple Dale Avenue told NewsChannel5’s Terrence Lee that she was not harmed.
Officers have been searching for Hudson since Saturday night, when he allegedly shot his aunt and uncle, then kidnapped his ex-girlfriend Pierce at gunpoint from the 12300 block of Chesterfield Avenue near East 125th Street.
Police said the shooting victims, Ethel and Andre Munds, live in the duplex apartment below Pierce and reportedly went upstairs to check on her after hearing loud noises.
Ethel Munds told NewsChannel5 she helped raise Hudson and considers his kidnapping victim, Pierce, to be like a daughter.
Hudson had been released from prison recently after serving time for manslaughter and killed Pierce’s boyfriend, according to police.
