A South Carolina man is accused of hitting his girlfriend with his anger management book while she was accused of stabbing him with a box cutter, landing both of them in jail.

Deputies said they were called to the woman’s apartment Monday night where the fight broke out while watching a movie.

According to the deputy’s report, Sheelah Thompson, 22, claimed Tyler Ford, 23, strangled her and threatened to kill her several times, that he put her phone in the oven so that she could not call 911 and he “popped” their infant daughter twice on the legs because she was crying.

At one point, Thompson said Ford rolled up his anger management book and hit her with it.

Deputies said Ford had a deep cut on his forearm while Thompson had a bump on her forehead from the fight. The report stated Ford was asking Thompson questions about their relationship, about why she tries to get him angry knowing he was in anger management class, but she would only shrug in response, so he hit her on the foot and then the cheek with his book.

Thompson walked outside but Ford told her to come back in so the neighbors wouldn’t call police, but that is when she began to hit him, so he locked the door, deputies said. The report said when he opened the door back up, she began hitting him again, he hit her in return then she stabbed him.

Both Ford and Thompson were arrested.
