The Rev. Al Sharpton is once again staring at criticism.

This time, the flack involves a comparison the activist made with President Barack Obama’s political resurrection with the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Needless to say, the comparison didn’t sit well with some.

“He just doesn’t get it! Every time he opens his mouth you just can’t believe what came out of it! What a lunitic!” one person wrote in response to Sharpton.

The reaction to Sharpton’s comparison comes days after his remarks went viral, courtesy of the conservative website, IJ Review, which transcribed and posted the comments.

During his interview on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Sharpton said, “No matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.

“As I looked to President Obama at our convention last Friday, with all he took, he’s been able to rise politically again,” he continued. “I’m not comparing him to Jesus, but I am saying that to every crucifixion there is a resurrection for those that believe.”
