Poor ratings ended the show, although much of that could be attributed to the attitudes of during the time.
Wade didn’t take the cancellation personally and says that doing the show wasn’t his greatest accomplishment.
Now 79, Wade says that going back to finish college at 60 was his highest achievement.
Wade met his wife, Jeree, when he hosted the program. The pair married in 1989. They currently own a theater company and still perform together.
