As Denise Stewart, 48, an asthmatic, struggled to get away from the police officers that dragged her – half naked – out of her apartment screamed “I can’t breathe,” onlookers were recording the entire incident on video.
The Daily News said that the officers told them they were called to the building to respond to a possible domestic violence dispute. But Stewart’s attorney says the 911 call didn’t come from his clients’ place, but from an apartment on another floor.
A naked Stewart eventually passed out and remained uncovered for approximately two minutes until a female officer covered her up. You can hear the voice of a man on the video asking why a female officer was not dealing with Stewart all along.
