12/23/14-

Dear Tom,

I am writing to you with the hopes that you will nominate my husband James as today’s Real Father Real Man. When we met 13 years ago I was a struggling single mother of four. James stepped in to help, attending my children’s sporting events, awards ceremonies, and even doctors appointments, two of the children are now in college and the twins will graduate high school next year. He set the standards high for them all to be selective in choosing a mate and how to be up standing human beings. He is also a pastor and works tirelessly to attend to the needs of people whether they are members of our church or not, he doesn’t get paid a pastoral salary due to a lack of financial resources. A year after having our four year old daughter, I lost my job, James works two jobs to support our family, an overnight shift as a security supervisor in a hospital and a security guard at a high school in which he is a mentor to kids there, some of whom call him “Dad”, he never complains and is humble to a fault. My husband James should be today’s Real Father Real Men for he is all of that and more.

Please reward him with a new wardrobe as he owns two pairs of jeans and a few suits, most days he only wears his work uniforms. Also he could really use some new electronics such as a video camera or tablet, something to make him smile for all the joy he brings to me and others. Thank you so much.
