When you’re in the process of losing weight and all is going well, you feel great, right? However, there’s always one time of the year that makes you feel a little uneasy and that’s the holiday season. With so much delicious food, it can be difficult to control yourself and you start worrying that all those pounds you lost will slowly creep back up. But, that doesn’t have to be the case. Here are three ways to stay fit and focused this Christmas!
1. Allow yourself to indulge.
What’s the fun in completely cutting out your favorite desserts and side dishes? I mean, come on! The holiday season only arrives once a year – and nothing is more exciting than spending it with the people you love and care about the most while eating great food. Sweet potato pie? Loaded mashed potatoes? Cheesy mac and cheese? Go ahead and dig in, but just remember to be reasonable about your portion sizes. As a rule of thumb, if you’re cooking five or more sides, keep your personal portion sizes to no larger than a deck of cards.
