CLEVELAND – Two people are dead and even more are injured after a violent weekend on Cleveland’s east side.

Four shootings were reported Saturday night, all within hours of each other.

Around 2:45 a.m. an 18-year-old man said he was walking on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Corlette Avenue when he heard gunshots and realized he had been shot. He was able to flag down a driver who transported him to the hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his thigh and finger. The victim told police he couldn’t give a description of that vehicle or any possible suspects.

Cleveland Police then responded to a report of a shooting at E. 93rd and Anderson Avenue around 3:30 a.m. When police arrived, they were told the victims left in a private car. Officers caught up with the victims at MetroHealth Medical Center.
