TMZ reported earlier that Nick Gordon will tape an episode of Dr. Phil. We learn now through Us Weekly that his mother arranged the whole visit in a bid to get her son to seek treatment for drugs and alcohol.
Dr. Phil will stage an intervention with Bobbi Kristina Brown’s boyfriend, who is promoted as “distraught and out of control” while his longtime love remains in a medically induced coma.
His mother Michelle will also appear on the show to help Dr. Phil conduct an “emotionally charged intervention.”
The psychiatric expert will offer Gordon the treatment he “appears to so desperately need,” it says in the release. It is also revealed that Gordon has been battling a drug and alcohol addiction.
A snippet from Dr. Phil’s sit-down with both Gordon and his mother reveals that Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend has been struggling with immense guilt after the R&B scion was found facedown and unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31.
