DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –A double dose of sports fans will be heading downtown on Friday, thanks to the Indians home opener and Cavs home game overlapping. That means fans trying to navigate heavy traffic and deal with pricey parking spots for fans.

There’s no magic formula for dealing with all the headaches, but a few fans have a good plan in place.

Terri Bacsi said she’s not worried about the crowds.

“Heck no. The more, the merrier,” she said.

Bacsi booked a hotel room Thursday and Friday night.

“Party on!” she said with a laugh walking near Progressive Field.

It will be a big party. John and Linda Bielek are getting a hotel room, too. They’re throwing a party for friends in what has become an annual tradition.

“For the past 12 years, we’ve been throwing an Opening Day party for everybody,” John Bielek said. “Come to the room with us and have a good time.”
