In what can only be called a bizarre turn of the tables, so to speak, a man was recently forced into a van at gunpoint and gang-raped by a group of men.
It happened on Friday, in broad daylight, on 14th street in the Columbia Heights area of Washington, D. C.
Authorities say the man was kidnapped and sexually assaulted.
“It represents a change in what’s going on out here on the streets that we have a group of people who are specifically looking to target, kidnap and sexually assault men. That is a very, very profound event and it’s a change in what we’re used to investigating,” said Delroy Burton, President of the D.C. Police Union.
The victim could only identify one of the seven suspects; a Hispanic man with dark curly hair who is around 6’1″.
Authorities say this is the second time in less than a year that a crime of this nature has happened. On New Year’s Eve in 2014, a man was walking among businesses at 10 a.m. when he was grabbed at gunpoint by four men and forced into a van. They drove the man to another location and raped him.
