Remember not so long ago when Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton were shoo-ins – when everyone was saying ‘not another Bush Clinton match up again’?

Well that was then.

This is now.

They both have some steep competition.

The new Franklin Pierce poll shows in New Hampshire Bernie Sanders surpassing Hillary Clinton 44 to 37 percent.

Clinton has dropped 10 points since the same poll was taken in March.

Sanders has gained 36 points since March.

Donald Trump has been leading Jeb Bush by double digits for months now.

Bush is slipping.

Trump is rising.

It’s the rise of the populists.

Donald Trump drawing crowds in the thousands to his campaign events.

“So now let’s say it’s President Trump. Ladies & gentlemen, the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump” (Applause)

Because of public interest and, of course ratings, the cable news networks are carrying his remarks across the country live.

“This country is going to be great again.  We are going to make this country so strong, so powerful. You’re going to be so proud to be a citizen of the United States. (Applause)

Confirmation of his appeal – 24-million people tuned into the GOP debate- an all-time record.

Trump is appealing to all demographics now; white and black.

Sisters, Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway and Rochelle “Silk” Richardson who happen to be African American, have dubbed themselves The Trump Girls

“Listen with African Americans with the unemployment rate being high,  particularly among African American men Don, he do need, we need jobs sweetie. -We need jobs- Listen we need jobs. We need jobs. – Yes we do. And we don’t want people  to just be surviving in this country but we want them to start striving in this country. We don’t need a handout but we need a hand-up.”

They say Trump speaks for the silent majority which is their language because he’s going to provide jobs, especially for African Americans all while securing the border.

Bernie Sanders also has broad appeal.

Rapper LIL B told CNN he’s now on the Sanders bandwagon.

“Seeing that Bernie was a part of fighting against segregation that was something that really touched my heart, and I appreciate it because likely I don’t think that was cool for him to do it back then but he still marched..”:

Sanders is drawing crowds of nearly 30,000 thousand people – a testament to his grassroots appeal because he’s not raising nearly as much money as Hillary Clinton.

“At the end of the day they may have the money but we have the people.  And when the people stand together we can win.  Thank you all very much. (Applause)

Money goes a long way in a presidential election, but so does support.

Populist Bernie Sanders appears to be gaining the support.

Populist Donald Trump has both the money and the support and is using it like a boa constrictor; squeezing his competitors out of the limelight.
