There’s a good chance that you’ll still be able to catch Whitney Houston in concert, even though she died just three years ago. Big surprise: This project has the full backing of Pat Houston.

Whitney is gone, but her estate is taking new measures to ensure that she will never be forgotten. According to Entertainment Weekly, her former manager Pat has approved Hologram USA to create a hologram of Whitney.

Much like, Tupac and Michael Jackson before her, Whitney‘s hologram will be able to perform for audiences that have missed her. Hologram USA CEO Alki David said this exactly the kind of thing he was hoping to share with the world when he began his company.

“I was heartbroken when Whitney passed away in 2012.The opportunity to help share her spectacular gifts with the world again is exactly what I hoped for when I built the hologram business,” he said in a statement. “We’ve got technology that’s causing a seismic shift in the entertainment industry, and a wonderful partnership with Pat Houston and the estate. I’m confident we’ll create the ultimate celebration of Whitney’s amazing artistry.”

Hologram USA has pledged that Whitney‘s likeness will be a completely unique experience because it will be “interactive, incorporating audiences and special guests.” Pat seems to be pretty excited about the whole idea, too! She said in a statement:

“It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come. I look forward to the partnership.”

The idea of seeing Whitney on stage again is exciting. With her daughter’s recent passing, though, we have to wonder whether this announcement came a bit too soon.
