Bed bug sightings seem to be more common across Northeast Ohio schools, but health officials said it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a spike in the number of parasites.

The Lorain County Job and Family Services complex in Elyria was closed on Wednesday while a bed bug infestation was exterminated.

Three incidents were reported in Lorain City Schools this week, but school officials want to clarify that there are not infestations and the schools have been deemed safe for students by the health department.
