Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Sunday tweeted a graphic with inaccurate statistics about 2015 murder rates in the United States.

Trump’s graphic cites San Francisco’s Crime Statistics Bureau, but official crime stats for the United States are collected by the FBI, according to Think Progress. The racial makeup of the victims and offenders for murders are usually listed in the FBI’s annual report. Furthermore, the 2015 report has not yet been released.

But that didn’t stop Trump. His graphic states that 81 percent of Whites murdered are murdered by Blacks, which is wrong. The actual numbers from 2014 show the results closer to about 14 percent. In  2013, the number was 13.6 percent, notes the report.

From Think Progress:

Official crime statistics for the United States are collected by the FBI. The racial breakdown of the victims and offenders for murders are detailed in a report that is released yearly. The 2015 report, therefore, has not yet been released.

The percentage of blacks murdered by other blacks (89.9%) is similar to the percentage of whites murdered by other whites (82.3%). Trump’s graphic falsely states that 97% of blacks are killed by other blacks but just 16% of whites are killed by other whites.

The fake graphic comes on the heels of supporters attacking a Black activist Saturday at a rally in Birmingham, Ala., raising questions about the brutal takedown. But Trump did not apologize after the episode.

On Sunday morning, Trump said that a Black Lives Matter protester who was beaten up by his supporters at a campaign event probably deserved it. He has dismissed the Black Lives Matter movement as “looking for trouble” and described efforts by Democratic candidates to engage them as “disgraceful.”

The real estate mogul leads his competitors in national polls by nearly 10 points, the report says. He also holds leads in early voting states, including Iowa and New Hampshire.
