AKRON, OH (WOIO) –
A 54-year-old hospital security guard at St. Thomas Hospital was stabbed Tuesday evening around 7 p.m.
Akron police say a 33-year-old man being transported to the St. Thomas psych ward from Akron City Hospital stabbed the unarmed security guard.
He was stabbed in the stomach and the side of the neck. He was transported to Akron General Hospital.
The suspect had two knives in his possession. He is currently in custody and charges are expected to be filed.
