The Zika virus is continuing to spread across the United States and its territories, according to a new report by the Department of Health & Human Services.

As of Wednesday, July 27, there were more than 6,400 cases of the Zika virus reported across the United States and its territories. That is an increase of 1,200 cases compared to last week alone. U.S. territories, like Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, were hit the hardest, with 4,750 cases of Zika confirmed. There have been significantly fewer cases in mainland United States, with only 1,658 confirmed reports of the Zika virus..
