CLEVELAND– Northeast Ohio businessman and one-time Republican candidate for Congress Tom Ganley has passed away.

The Brecksville resident was hospitalized at the Cleveland Clinic in July, said Ganley’s son-in-law Ron Stease. Ganley was recently transferred to a long-term care facility.

He died Wednesday afternoon at the age of 73, Stease said.

Ganley is best known as the founder of the Ganley Auto Group and opened his first dealership in Euclid in 1968.
