Chris Brown, like many others, has shown his support for Colin Kaepernick and his decision to kneel during the National Anthem. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the 27-year-old R&B singer commended the quarterback for his stance as well as being an example for the rest of the country. But has Brown taken his support one step further by joining in on the protests? According to TMZ, the answer is yes.

On Sunday, the publication accused Brown of refusing to stand during the National Anthem in a charity basketball game on 9/11. In the video above, Tank is encouraging everyone to join him in singing the National Anthem. “I understand everybody is exercising their right to stand or to sit. And to exercise my right to freedom of justice,” he says. “But in the wake of 9/11, please understand and respect the fact that real men, women, and children lost their lives for this very thing we are able to stand for today. For this very place that we’re in, for this interaction, for this moment.”

The camera pans to Brown who is seen sitting down through Tank’s rendition until someone helps him up. It’s important to note that Brown was actually enjoying Tank’s singing, even nodding his head at a couple of moments. Brown’s gesture could be interpreted in many ways, depending on who you’d ask.

Brown doesn’t exactly have the best relationship with TMZ, and proceeded to call them out on Instagram. In a move similar to when he blasted TMZ for their story titled “Chris Brown Settles Beef…Over Gay Pride Gig,” he posted a screenshot of the story and wrote “Stay classy!”

Later reports also indicated that Brown got into a heated argument with a fan at the game. TMZ shared a video of him standing on the folding chairs on the side of the court, shouting at someone in the crowd. You can’t hear what he’s saying, but he certainly looks upset. You can check out the video below to see for yourself.
