Meet Patrol Officer Anna Mercado – selected as this month’s Guardian for her selfless devotion to the community.
Anna has served at the Cleveland Division of Police for 18 years and is currently assigned to the Bureau of Community Policing D.A.R.E. Unit. She is also a certified trainer for R.A.D. Systems of Self Defense.
Working as a DARE officer has provided many memorable experiences. What she loves most is seeing the smiles on children’s faces as the recognize her when she is out in the community off duty. Every smile, hug or nod “what’s up” affirms that she has had a lasting effect on them.
Anna enjoys spending quality family time with two beautiful daughters, her fiancé, a sister, aunt and friend. Cooking ,baking, watching a movie or travelling it’s all about family
Meet Michael Eddie, an EMT-Paramedic for the City of Cleveland Division of Cleveland EMS for the past 25 years and works out of Cleveland Fire station 10 on E.105 and Chester.
What Michael enjoys most about his profession is meeting people from all walks of life and aiding them in their time of need. One of my most memorable moments on the job is when my partner and myself aided a young lady in a very difficult birth due to some pregnancy complications which made the delivery process very arduous but we we’re able to get through it ok and thankfully turned out alright.
In Michael’s spare time he enjoys traveling and shopping along with playing video games and going to amusement parks with his family which is his favorite stress reliever.
