MEDINA, Ohio – A hungry teenager broke into a convenience store and got hit by a car while trying to run from police.

Police say a man broke into an EZ Shop Food Mart on Norwalk Road in Medina.

When sheriffs arrived, an 18-year-old man bolted from the store and made it about 40-feet before being hit by a car.

When the driver of that car drove off, the suspect hobbled back across the street and was arrested by police. He was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Police say the driver of the car did eventually return to the scene. There’s no word if she will face any charges.

Medina County sheriffs said the teenager broke into the convenience store for a Slurpee drink and a bag of chips.
