On Tuesday, Dave Chappelle admitted that it was a mistake to tell Saturday Night Live viewers to give Trump a chance when he hosted the comedy show just days after Donald Trump was elected.

“I was the first guy on TV to say ‘Give Trump a chance.’ I f–ked up. Sorry,” Chappelle said at the Robin Hood NYC benefit Tuesday, according to MSNBC.

Chappelle hosted SNL on Nov. 12 and gave a 10-minute monologue in which he asked the president-elect to give minorities a chance and urged others to do the same.

“I’m gonna wish Donald Trump luck, and I’m going to give him a chance, and we the historically disenfranchised demand that he give us one too,” he said at the time.
