The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday afternoon that the Cleveland / Canton area has been selected as a finalist to host the NFL draft in the coming years.
The draft could come to Northeast Ohio as soon as 2019 or 2020.
The four other finalists are Denver, Kansas City, Nashville and Las Vegas.
The Browns, Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission partnered together to submit a bid to bring the event to local fans.
The winner will be selected in May at a NFL league meeting.
